'The Best of Song and Dance Revue' A Success!

On Saturday, June 13, Hoboken High School transformed into the setting for Garden Street’s “Best of Song and Dance Revue,” a celebration of best music of past and present. The weekend contained almost 40 dance and music performances.

The day began at 1pm with dancers age 2-4 performing ballet, tap, and jazz routines onstage. They danced to such songs as Disney’s “Whistle While You Work” and the disco hit “Let’s Boogie”. In between their routines, performers from the Annie Mac Dance Company performed solos and group numbers that have won them awards all over New Jersey this year. For many of these dancers, this was their first recital. They performed wonderfully for a large audience of over 400 family, friends, and loved ones.

At 3pm, dancers aged 4-adult put on another fabulous show for a crowd of almost 500 guests. This recital included more ballet, tap, and jazz routines, as well as the new additions of acrobatic, lyrical, contemporary, Irish step, and hip-hop dancing.

Backstage was a whirlwind of costumes, shoes, and excitement. Dancers lined up backstage to watch their fellow performers execute their routines and make sure tap shoes were buckled tight. Dancers in multiple performances changed costumes with the help of family and friends. Parents and friends came to congratulate performers with gifts, flowers, and hugs. It was an energetic, exciting place to be!

Thank you to all family, friends, and loved ones who attended our performances, and all of our instructors for their hard work. We are so proud of all of our Garden Street dancers, actors, and singers on their achievements. We can’t wait for the next recital!

We still have space in summer camps and summer dance classes! Email Maddie.gardenstreet@gmail.com or call (201) 683-9100 to enroll.
