Are you practicing any other instruments?
Yes, I also play guitar with my band , and I write music as well!
How do you maintain a busy singer songwriter schedule with teaching?
I always set aside some time to write and rehearse, even if it's only for a few minute a day. I perform a few times a month, so I balance my teaching repertoire with my own songs. It's fun to go back and forth between the two.
Where are you from and why did you move to the area?
I am from Long Island and I moved to NYC for college to study music. Now that I perform and teach, I stayed in the area!
What advice do you have for students for practicing at home?
My advice for students is not to rush! Take your time with new pieces and repetition is helpful for learning any new song.
What would you do if you were not a musician?
If I weren't a musician, I would be an actor or a writer
What is one interesting or unexpected fact about you that most students do not know?
I studied Japanese for several years and I can read and write in two of the alphabets. I also traveled to Tokyo when I was 16 and I wanted to be a pop star there!
