Dublin
native Louise Barry started her Performing Arts training at the age
of two, studying many aspects of Dance, Drama and Singing both in
Dublin and New York and with The ABRSM, London.
In Ireland, Louise's professional career began at a very early age.
Her musical theatre highlights have included ' Little Eponine' in
'Les Miserables', The Point Theatre, 'Estelle Genovese', in the
Irish National Tour of 'The Full Monty’, ‘Princess Rose’, in ‘The
Sleeping Beauty’, and ‘The Fairy Godmother’ in ‘Cinderella,’ The
Helix Theatre. Some of Louise’s film and television credits include
BBC's, 'The Family', 'Michael Collins',' Some Mother's Son', ‘Social
Work', 'Listen Dear' and ‘The Late Late Show'.
Having performed as a featured vocalist for four seasons of 'Music
in the Classroom' with the National Concert Orchestra, Ireland,
Louise went on to make many national and network television and
radio appearances as well as lending her voice to two seasons of
'Wilde Nights' Irish Cabaret and to many Irish recording artists.
For over a decade, Louise has toured Ireland and Europe fronting
some of Ireland's most sought after wedding and cover bands.
As a choreographer, Louise's original pieces have been performed on
RTE and TV3, in The Coronas 'Far From Here' music video, 'The Den',
'The Disney Club' and ‘Ice’ as well as in The Olympia, The Cork
Opera House and most major theatres in Ireland, Wembley Arena, UK,
Mohegan Sun, Connecticut, and Boston. Louise quickly earned the
reputation as one of Ireland's most in demand choreographers and
upon winning the coveted Dance Masters “Peoples Choice” award, was
approached to collaborate with New York Irish contemporary dance
company 'DCD' for their 2007 season, culminating in a run of
performances in the Duke Theatre on 42nd Street, Broadway. Although
she continues her work in Ireland, Louise was thrilled to become a
member and contributing choreographer to the already thriving New
Jersey based modern Irish dance company 'Emerald Fire' with whom she
currently tours the US.
One of Louise's favourite roles to date has been as a teacher. Her
versitile ability, personality and professionalism earned her the
title of Director of Dance in some of Ireland's most reputable
Performing Arts Schools. In her 12 years, she has nurtured the
creative talents of hundreds of tots, teens and adults to see them
through to winning international Arts scholarships and major tv and
theatre roles. In 2010 Louise established FitDance Ireland, a dance
fitness course taught in a group environment which incorporates
elements of cardio and strength training in a fun dance class.
FitDance is now available in various locations around Ireland.
Louise is so excited to join the amazingly talented Garden Street
team and can't wait to see her students become superstars.
