Natallia Kozel:

Violin Instructor: ear training, suzuki, all genres and styles

I was raised in Belarus, Europe. Because I loved to dance and to sing, my parents enrolled me in music school from the time I was a child. I had a wonderful and gifted teacher, who, after only two years of studying with her decided that I was ready to enter the Belarusian State Violin competition in the youngest age category where I won Second Prize.

After entering Belarusian State Music College I played in the symphony orchestra, where I held the coveted principal second violinist position, in chamber ensemble, quartet and solo.

I also won the Mozart Best Performer competition and enjoyed performing Mozart's 3rd violin concerto with the Student Symphony Orchestra. I have played solo concerts in Brest Pedagogical University, Brest Museum of Arts, Brest Museum of National History, and many concert halls, museums, and Universities throughout the world. I also studied music theory, Solfeggio, conducting, and various Methods of teaching the violin, including Suzuki.

After graduating from college I entered the Belarusian State Academy of Music in Minsk. There I had the opportunity to learn from the best musicians and teachers, visit master classes and attend concerts. I had the honor to play with the Student Chamber Orchestra, which is a very prestigious ensemble. The Student Chamber Orchestra had the distinction of playing for the German and Lithuanian Embassy. As a member of the Student Chamber Orchestra I toured and performed in Spain and Germany.

I'm convinced, that music adds to the lives of children and adults. I love music and I want each of my students to have that same appreciation and to keep it for life. Now, as a violin teacher I realize to excel, each student needs that individual approach and attention that was given to me. Over the years, I have developed a teaching method, which combines Suzuki and the best achievements of Belarusian Violin School. My methods inspire my students to have passion for playing while focusing on how to master the violin in a fun and joyful environment.

I have always wanted to use my talents to become something outstanding and to do something very important. I'm convinced, that for me this is teaching. I was lucky to have the opportunity to learn from the very best teachers and I hope I took something from their example: to love children, to have patience, to teach perseverance while working on music and technique, and ultimately developing their talents at the same time. I look forward to sharing my music with you at Garden Street Music.
