Chrissi Poland:

Originally from a small town in southern Massachusetts, Chrissi
Poland is a true soul singer, multi-instrumentalist and song
writer/composer. Chrissi is an accomplished singer, pianist,
guitarist, and drummer. Chrissi studied at the Boston Conservatory
of Music majoring in musical theatre, and she went on to receive her
BFA from Berklee College of Music where she graduated Magna Cum
Laude.
Chrissi’s love and appreciation of music education, and performance
has brought her around the world where she has taught private
lessons, group classes and clinics, including Berklee College of
Music where she has been a guest educator for the prestigious Vocal
Summit and The Five Week Program.
Chrissi’s performance credits include radio, film, tv, commercials,
award shows and special events, as well as major label recordings.
She has performed at the Creative Coalition for the Arts Inaugural
Ball, Rockefeller Tree Lighting, Trans-Siberian Orchestra (as lead
vocalist), to name a few including singing the National Anthem at
Fenway Park for the Red Sox. She has performed with Sting, Sam
Moore, Elvis Costello and Moby, among many others. She has performed
live and toured with Stax legend Sam Moore, in the US, Canada, and
Japan She has also been featured performing on The Today Show, One
Life to Live, The Apprentice, and All My Children. She has performed
and won at The Apollo Theatre, The Bitter End, The Living Room,
Rockwood, and XM Radio. Her recording credits are too long to list
but some highlights are for Universal and Disney, and Chrissi can
also be heard on rock artist Moby’s latest release, “Last Night”.
She also has recorded countless albums of her own original music and
she really defines the word “pro” in all aspects of music and
performance.
Combining the sounds of blues, roots, jazz, and soul, she channels a
sound that is all her own, yet influenced by the greats. Chrissi
loves to share her gifts and talents with her students. She teaches
group classes at Garden Street Music as well as our Garden Street
Music Children’s Choir. She also teaches all ages, styles and levels
in voice, guitar, piano and drums. With her amazing performance
experience as a musician and artist, and her top-notch music
education, Chrissi has developed her own teaching methods that
inspire her students to love music as much as she does.
