Amy Regan, a critically acclaimed NYC based singer/songwriter, and received
her Bachelor's
Degree in
Music from Skidmore
College. Amy has performed
at major showcase venues across the U.S., including Joe's Pub
(NYC), the Tin Angel (Philly), and the Hotel Cafe (LA) and has
released two records independently over the past three years to
much critical acclaim. In 2008, Music Connection Magazine named
her one of their Hot 100 Unsigned Artists, and most recently,
Regan and her song "Carry On" were featured in a national Hertz
commercial. Her passion for
teaching and inspiring young children, and adults comes across
in every music lesson, and she is a great musical role model for
all of her students.
At age three, Amy's
musical journey began with falling in love with the Sound of
Music, and
she continued Disney songs on her karaoke machine
thoughout childhood, which blossomed
into studying private
voice, piano, and guitar. Amy
has studied classical voice devotedly since
age 12, receiving a multitude of honors including being
ranked in NJ's All State Choir, being named a NJ Governor's
School of the Arts Scholar in voice, and receiving the Eastman
Award for Music. She concurrently developed as a songwriter and
musician, recording her first album at age 15, and shortly
after began performing professionally.
Amy continued her musical studies at Skidmore College, where she
studied composition, voice, guitar and piano, and performed in
everything from jazz combos to a capella groups to to leading
her own 5-part band.
Amy teaches voice, piano, and guitar, and is passionate about
sharing her love for music with new and developing musicians.
She custom tailors lessons for each student, taking into account
the student's unique interests, personality, and goals. She can
incorporate any combination of pop, folk, rock, classical, and
jazz music into lessons. Her
strong music education background, along with her amazing
professional career makes Amy a well rounded music teacher and
perfect to teach any level student.
