Garden Street Acting
offers private and group
Acting and Musical Theater
classes for all ages, styles and levels. Classes offered are
listed below. Please let us know if you have any questions or
would like to enroll in a class. We will hold in-house
performances in our beautiful, 3000 square foot performance
space, as well as venues throughout NYC and Hoboken.
Acting and
Play (5-7)
Wednesdays 3:15pm- 4pm
Enhance your child’s
natural creativity and basic play skills with this imaginative
class. Children learn basic theater games, teamwork and confidence
building, while working on fun songs and dances.
Musical Theater & Acting
(8 and up) Wednesdays 4pm-5pm
Children explore
their imaginations and build confidence in this energized class that
combines acting, singing and dancing from some of musical theater's
most beloved shows. Students will also learn basic acting and
musical theater terms, as well as classic dance moves, through scene
work and theatrical games. Sharing at the end of session.
Musical
Theater & Acting (13
and up) Wednesdays 5pm-6pm
This highly active
class combines fundamental acting techniques, in addition to singing
and dancing, to help students develop skills required for musical
and dramatic works of theater. Students will also work on acting
exercises, terminology and scene work. Sharing at the end of
session.
Musical
Theater & Acting (Adults)
Wednesdays 6pm-7pm
Students in this
class will work on both a classic and modern musical theater piece.
Master the art of singing, dancing, and acting by working on
choreography and scene work from two musical numbers. Sharing at the
end of session.
Acting for
the Stage
(Adults) Wednesdays 7pm-8pm
This class will
consist of theater exercises, vocabulary, and scene work. Students
will learn how to approach a script, utilizing objectives, actions,
obstacles, and personalization. Monologues will also be covered.
Comedy and
Improv
(Adults) Wednesdays 8pm-9pm
This class will
consist of comedy and improv exercises, timing and a hilarious
good-time! Beginners and pros are welcome. We will work on sketch
comedy, hone in on writing skits and work on pure improvisation.
Audition
and Monologue Technique
(Adults) Wednesdays 9pm-10pm
Feel solid and
confident in your audition! This class will explore the important
skill of auditioning, from finding your right song/monologue,
breaking down beats within your audition or simply how to walk into
a room. Students begin this class by bringing in their current
audition material and leave with a complete, polished package they
can feel confident using in auditions.
